Bye 2020

Last day of 2020, so a quick look back at what we have done this year.

This pandemic had caught everyone by surprise, and we are busier than usual just to stay alive.

We hope to resume our hair donations soon, as many had written to enquire, but our main focus is still to raise funds to make more wigs.

Our fundraising has been slow and just last month, Give Asia ended our campaign prematurely due to their system upgrade. They said they were not able to reconnect back their platform to the funding platform, so we would have to create a new campaign in order to receive funds.

Wig Y20-21

We have been making wigs. Our wigs are not just for cover, but an armour filled with love for warriors battling cancer.

This wig is no exception. Except for this warrior is a 6-year-old princess. Let's gather all the love and wishes for this little princess.

Update 24 August 2020

Dear all,
It’s been a long while since our last update, we hope everyone is well and safe.

We had basically stopped all our activities, till we received a wigs request. Two days after we sent in the batch of hair to the wig maker, the Circuit Breaker was announced. Everything was again put on hold.

As wig making is not considered essential services, the wig maker can only resume their operation somewhere in Phase Two of the Circuit Breaker. Just before the National Day, we were informed that the wigs were ready for collection.

We have made 21 wigs in total, 20 of them were collected and donated to NCCS on the 11 Aug. No viewing of the wigs was arranged to reduce the risk of any contamination.

More information on the wigs will be posted soon.

Do remember that the DORSCON level is still ORANGE. Do observe safe distancing, wear a mask when you are out and wash your hands frequently with soap and water.

Also, not forgetting to frequently check and remove stagnant water in your premises to prevent Aedes mosquitoes from breeding in your home.

Stay safe and stay healthy.

Note: We have not resumed our activities.

Important Announcement

Dear all,
In view of the evolving novel coronavirus (“2019-nCoV”) situation, recycle your hair volunteer group will be putting on hold all upcoming activities.

This includes our next batch of hair to be sent to the wig maker next week.

We would also like to remind everyone to remain vigilant and to adopt good personal hygiene practices at all times.
