Wigs donation 15/12/2014

Today marks a new milestone in our effort to help more cancer survivors.

Together with Meryl, our hair donor and wigs sponsor, we donated the wigs we recently made to the Breast Cancer Foundation Singapore (http://www.bcf.org.sg/).

This is the first time we donated our wigs to them, we are looking forward to donating more in the future.

Kristin's Donation

"My hair was getting long and I felt that I needed a haircut. I didn't want to trim or just have a normal cut because it was boring and I wanted a change in me and since I was planning to cut a lot, I wanted to make the haircut meaningful.

Moe Moe's Donation

Moe Moe Lwin, director of Yangon Heritage Trust, donated 12 inches of her hair in support of our cause. Her hair was 'shipped' over with the help from of our donor's sister's friend. Thanks to May for all the coordination.

Natasha's Donation

"I have experienced what it feels like to have loved ones suffer from cancer. The pain and emotions involved seeing your loved ones going through this makes one appreciate the life we have... :-)

Video of student's presentation

Here is the video clip of the presentation done by students of Innova Primary School. They are Jia Wen, Kamilah and Wai Yi.

The presentation was presented in the morning of 3rd November, 2014, before the school starts.

Special thanks to the students for creating the awareness, and Roselyn for sharing with us the video.

The students who came to our workshop in September, had their presentation yesterday morning. Roselyn sent us some photos and we are can't wait for the video to be ready!

Janette's Donation

"The reason for donating my hair is I had kept it almost a year now, and it seems such a pity to cut it without a right reason.

Wigs Update 20/10/2014

Received a call this morning from the wig maker informing us that the wigs are ready for collection, and it came with a little surprise too. Not sure if it's a good news or a bad news, but the hair we sent for making 2 wigs were now made into 3 wigs. Hmm.....

Will be updating more after our next visit.

Lili's Donation

"I remember my last time having a short haircut was in primary 4 (14-15 years ago), and I have been keeping it long since then.

Mary's birthday's wish

Mary's having a haircut
"Mary participated in a program visiting a cancer ward with children suffering from leukemia. She spent some time there and remembered the story of a pre-school student at her school who was diagnosed with leukemia too.

Joanne's Donation

"I always wanted to get a short/shoulder length haircut but I felt it would be a waste if I just throw my hair away. So I just type down "Hair Donation Singapore" in Google and your RYH website appear.

Wigs Update 09/10/2014

These ponytails were sent to the wig maker on Tuesday for our next wigs. Two wigs will be made and both were sponsored by hair donors themselves.

Together with donors Yu Thi and Meryl, we have another visit to the wig maker. Hope the trip was a fruitful one for them. The 2 wigs should be ready by the second week of November.
