Be someone's hero
What can be more inspiring than hearing our very own hair donor supporting the cancer patients?
Dr Xenia touches our hearts by exemplifying “Be Someone’s Hero”.
It is easy to make someone's day happy by giving a bright smile, saying hello in the lift, sharing an umbrella or buying a small box of cupcake.. But, you can Be Someone's Hero by making the cancer patients happy, restoring their confidence by making a small contribution in our fundraising campaign.

Day number 5 … The volunteers have been checking the vote count as and when they are happy anxious. Still far behind.
They had been asking people to vote, but people may not really know what they really do. Yet again, another couple of months back (like there are 24 months this year) crews from Mediacorp Chinese News were seen with them. And then… they appeared on a television programme on Channel U.
The show, World This Week, did a brief segment on what this group is all about, you can watch it over at the link below.
But then, still no sponsor.
Vote for them, though they cannot be your voice in the parliament, they can help those in need too.

Know more about hair - why we reject
Few months back, we rejected one donation, probably one of the best ponytails we have ever received.
Reason; we found a couple of strands of hair caught in the opposite direction.
Many of you would asked, why can’t we just remove what we found? We could, but what about those we missed?
We have found a video that could relate to what we are talking here.
Watch from 0:38 to 1:30 (what is remy hair).
We hope that after watching this clip, donors would understand why some donations were rejected.
As it takes at least three or more donors’ hair and about SGD200 to make a wig, we cannot afford to let it (the wig) mat and tangle just after second or third wash.

Here is the video clip of the presentation done by students of Innova Primary School. They are Jia Wen, Kamilah and Wai Yi.

Weeks ago, we received an email from someone, requesting a wig for her friend who is currently undergoing her chemotherapy.

Important Update!
With regards to the false claim on donation of hair to our cause, we have finally gotten the person involved, Gisele, to cooperate with us. We thank her for her clarification as this is a serious matters not only to us, but also to anybody or organisation doing charity.
Attached below is her email to us, we are publishing it as to answer to all donors and members of the public. We will be forwarding to donors whom we contacted during our investigations and apologise for all misunderstanding and inconvenience caused. We have also requested Gisele to remove all posts on her social media about her hair donation to us, but no reply till date.

Collection
Collections are now strictly on weekdays after 1800 hrs at designated MRT stations only. These stations are; Buona Vista, Bishan, Paya Lebar and Dhoby Ghaut.
While we tried our best to accommodate to some special cases, many does not appreciate and wanted more from us. We understand that everyone has their commitments, so do we.
Rules
For those who are interested to donate their hair to us, they are now required to email us the following;
1) Name
2) Mobile contact
3) Preferred station
4) Photo of your ponytail(s)
Donors are to contact us on the day of the appointment, else we will take it as you are not available.
If you are going to be late, call or contact us via SMS. If we did not hear from you 10 mins after the appointment time, we will leave.
These rules were implemented because we have been played out too many times.

The selfless cut
10 inches is what it takes to donate. But Xiao Yuan's hair is too short for donation, but at least Stephanie knows the that her daughter is willing to let go for charity and helping people in need. What a selfless girl!
