Not yet

Many have written to us asking when will our hair donations resume. As of now, we are not able to answer.

For those who are new, and to refresh memories for some; We stopped accepting hair donations since 2017 to raise funds for making wigs. Without funds, donated hair would not be able to serve what they are meant for.

Though we have not resumed our hair donations, we are still sending hair to the wig maker (look out for our next post). However, restrictions and measures are slowing down the wig maker.

Bye 2020

Last day of 2020, so a quick look back at what we have done this year.

This pandemic had caught everyone by surprise, and we are busier than usual just to stay alive.

We hope to resume our hair donations soon, as many had written to enquire, but our main focus is still to raise funds to make more wigs.

Our fundraising has been slow and just last month, Give Asia ended our campaign prematurely due to their system upgrade. They said they were not able to reconnect back their platform to the funding platform, so we would have to create a new campaign in order to receive funds.

Wig Y20-21

We have been making wigs. Our wigs are not just for cover, but an armour filled with love for warriors battling cancer.

This wig is no exception. Except for this warrior is a 6-year-old princess. Let's gather all the love and wishes for this little princess.

Support RYH - Sponsor a wig

Today is World Kindness Day.

It’s the time of the year to do at least one act of kindness today.

As you all know, we have temporarily stopped accepting hair donation since the beginning of the year to focus on raising fund to make more wigs in order to benefits more patients.

And today, we are launching our fundraising campaign. We hope that with this campaign, we could get more people to help with the cost of making of our wigs.

This project had been running from the pocket of our volunteers, their friends and colleagues. Sometimes, we have hair donors sponsoring our wigs as well. It's not sustainable in a long run. Therefore, we decided to seek more help from the public.

We have the hair but need the money to further benefit our local patients.

Spread your kindness on World Kindness Day.

Many thanks!

2nd batch Donated

Our second batch of wigs of 2016 have been donated to Breast Cancer Foundation last Saturday, 13 May 2017.

We would like to thanks our hair donors, sponsors and volunteers for making this possible.

Wig Y16-08
Donors (from Top): Denis, Peixian, Margaret

Did you know that..

  • one wig cost around S$200 to make?
  • some of the supposedly sponsored wigs ended up being paid by the volunteers?
  • if they win, the prize money could benefit 25 patients / survivors?
  • till date, there are over 800 donors, but the vote count is less than half?
  • you have less than 4 days to help?

Voting ends 27 Dec (10 am)

Wigs Donated

After much delay, we have finally donated our wigs on 5th July 2016 to NCCS.

Hair were sent to the wig maker last November, and the completed wigs were collected in January. Due to our hectic work schedule and the number of donors to arrange to view the wigs, we were unable to donate the wigs early.

Kat, Jocelyn, Michelle (Malaysia), Teresa

Sponsor: Kat

Donated to Kat's Aunt

Special Discount

The wig maker had given us a special discount for the 4 wigs we made earlier this year, from $200 to $180. This is to match the price they quoted Tan Tock Seng Hospital for the wigs they made from their hair donation drive. However, we are not sure how long this offer will last.

Total refunded amount is $80 from the 4 wigs. Respective sponsors have been informed. However, they are more willing to use the refund to sponsor more wigs.

Therefore, with approval from our sponsors, we have used the money to subsidise the making of wig Y15-04, instead of holding on to the money.

Adjustment has been made accordingly.

Wigs Update 01/09/2015

Apologies for the delay on the update of the wigs.

Earlier, we made 4 wigs, including a specially requested wig. We have recently made an additional wig (Y15-05), making the total number of wigs we made this year to 5.

On the 28th July 2015, we donated 4 wigs (see photos below) to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Thank you Hui Shan (our hair donor) for taking your time to come down with us.

A wig for my mum

This is one of the 4 wigs we made recently. It's a specially requested wig from a daughter to her mum, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

Not only did she donated 11 inches of her hair, Adeline also helped to sponsor the wig.

We are glad we it was made in time for Mother's day.

Happy Mother's day to Adeline's mum.

Quick Update 04/11/2014

Just a quick update of the things that happened yesterday.

The students who came to our workshop in September, had their presentation yesterday morning. Roselyn sent us some photos and we are can't wait for the video to be ready!

Wigs collected. Photo and updates coming soon. All the 3 wigs were sponsored by donors themselves.
